Are you concerned about all the pet food recalls?
We choose Life's Abundance dog food, because it is all natural, holistic, human grade food.
Current pet food regulations allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never knowingly feed your pet. Many foods include by-products like feet, bones and intestines, chemical preservatives like BHA and BHT, and grains like corn, wheat, gluten and soy, which are often difficult to digest.
These ingredients can put unnecessary stress on your pet's bodily system and can lead to diminished overall health and shortened life
span.
Life's Abundance Premium Health Food for Puppies & Adult Dogs is made with the freshest, human -quality ingredients that are scientifically balanced to support your dog's overall health.
Our dog food uses an exclusive "Fast-cook" process to preserve freshness and to maintain the nutritional value of the food. The unique formula includes premium, all-natural chicken and catfish, fresh fruit and vegetables.
Life's Abundance contains a superior blend of vitamins and minerals; blending natural antioxidants, which help maintain not only the freshness of the food, but the health of your dog's immune system as well.
My favorite ingredients are the four different types of probiotics; lactobacillus Acidophilus, lactobacillus Casei, Bifidobacterium and Enterococcus faecium for intestinal health.

We recommend "Autoship" every 2 months, based on the weight of your Labrador. In most cases, the shipping charge for single and multiple bags of Life's Abundance Pet Food is $7.95 an order (excluding non-food products). Therefore, you will save on shipping if you order a greater amount of food over a longer period of time. For example, instead of ordering a 20 lb. bag of dog food every month for your dog, (shipping charge of approximately $7.95 a month), we suggest a 40 lb. bag every two months (shipping charge of approximately $7.95 every two months).
Remember, Life's Abundance is a FRESH dog food, dry kibble, shipped directly from the manufacturer to your front door.
Life's Abundance Dog Food has convenient home delivery and you never have to worry about running out of food on their Autoship program!

Dogs do best with smaller meals multiple times per day. Dry kibble swells significantly in your dog's stomach after mixing with water and stomach acid, so large meals can be dangerous. We recommend two cups per day; one cup at a time. Our Life's Abundance dog food does not have fillers so it may seem like a small amount to you, but it is the correct amount.
Run your hands over your dog's rib cage at least once a week. If you can't easily feel his ribs, cut back on the amount you are giving him. If his ribs are very prominent, increase the amount. Dogs, when viewed from above, should show a clear waitline. Don't get stuck in the "this is the amount I always feed him rut." Be vigilant about the amount he actually needs.
It is always a bit startling to realize how little food dogs, even large ones, need to eat every day. The average dog requires twenty to twenty five calories per pound of body weight per day. That number can go up to approximately forty calories per pound per day for active puppies and down to fifteen calories per pound per day for really sedentary dogs. Climate, exercise, age, personality, and your average Rover weighing fifty pounds needs approximately on thousand callories per day. Dog food is extremely nutritious and calorie dense at approximately four hundred thirty calories per eight ounce cup, so Rover would need a little more than two cups of food per day. If you despair over the idea of your dog eating so little, mix one cup of kibble with one cup of warm water and let it sit for thirty minutes or so. You will be surprised at how much the food expands. Soaking kibble is also a good way to slow down those dogs who "bolt"their food. Remember "a cup" is an eight ounce portion not a "Big Gulp" cup from 7 11. Our failure to accurately easure food is one of the most common reasons our dogs become overweight.
Try not to feed people food to your dog, because it can confuse the calorie-versus-nutrition ratio. People food can also be difficult on your dog's stomach, causing such horrors as pancreatitis. Small amounts of siple but delicious human food, such as cheese or peanut butter, can be used in a teaching context when needed. Frozen carrots are great for teathing puppies (large carrots, not baby carrots).
Keeping your dog at a healthful weight is the kindest thing you can do for him. Obesity is the number-one health problem in American dogs, affecting some 35 - 45 percent of them. Obesity in dogs increases their risk of serious orthopedic conditions such as hip dysplasia, cruciate-ligament injuries, arthritis, and back problems. It also increases your dog's risk of certain cancers, heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, heatstroke, and respiratory problems. As if that weren't enough, obese dogs have a greater risk of surgical complications also.
People often ask me how I feel about dogs being kept in urban housing, apartments or condominiums without access to a fenced yard. I feel good about it! I know this is surprising to many of you, but my feeling is that when you cannot just open the door and let the dog out, the dog has to be leash walked and leash walked dogs tend to get more exercise than dogs who are mearely turned out into a fenced yard. Those of us with big fensed yards like to imagine our dogs joyfully scurrying around, getting pleanty of exercise, but the truth is most dogs who go out alone just amble a bit, do their business, and return to the back door, wanting to get in to be with us. Leash walking is another good bonding experience for both of you. It is a rare dog who will exercise himself.
Dog parks can be great for socialization, just make sure the one you go to is clean. Remember not to go to a dog park or let your dog walk where others have been until he is fully covered by his first vaccinations, a series of four shots given three to four weeks apart until he is about 14 weeks old. Parvovirus and other diseases can be fatel.
Here is southern California, remember that ocean water can cause vomiting and diahrea, you should be prepared on any outing to have a portable water bowl and fresh, clean water.
Speaking of WATER, dogs don't have a very good cooling system compared to that of humans. Our ability to sweat profusely is an exceedingly efficient way to regulate our body temperature. Although dogs do have a few sweat glands, mostly on their paw pads and around their noses, these glands seem to play a very small role, if any at all, in thermoregulation. Dogs rely primarily on panting to cool themselves. Normally, dogs breathe about thirty to fourty times per minute, but a panting dog can breathe as rapidly as one hundred times or more in a minute. The moist tissues of dogs' upper respiratory tracts act as an evaporative surface, much like human skin, helping them dissipate heat. Water can mean the difference between life and death to an overheated dog.
Although hot weather does increase a dog's need for water, he needs approximately one-half to a full once of water per pound of body weight per day, regardless of the weather. So, a fourty eight pound dog would need somewhere between four and six cups of water 1.5 liters on a typical day, and potentially two or three times that amount when it is hot or the dog is exercising heavily.
You can check your dog's hydration evel by feeling his gums. If his gums are dry, he needs more water. If your dog has been sick and has dry gums, you need to let your veterinarian take a look at him.
Pool water is highly chlorinateed and therefore unsafe for dogs. Giardiasis is a protozoal infection that affect the small intestine. Any outdoor source of water, including puddles, creeks, rivers, and lakes, can contain giardia - take your own water with you on outings. Drinking out of the toilet is not safe for your dog or for anyone your dog might lick. Even newly cleaned toilets can be full of bacteria, keep your toilet lids down!
